Your Privacy Matters
Wottle is designed with privacy at its core. Your health data should stay yours — always. This applies to both the iPhone app and the Apple Watch companion.
What We Collect
Nothing. Wottle does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. Zero data collection means zero privacy concerns.
Where Your Data Lives
All data stays on your devices:
- Water intake entries — stored locally on your iPhone (UserDefaults with App Groups) and Apple Watch (local UserDefaults)
- Daily goals and settings — saved in on-device storage on both devices
- iPhone-Watch sync — uses Apple's WatchConnectivity framework — direct device-to-device, no cloud servers involved
- Apple Health sync — (optional) uses Apple's secure HealthKit framework
- Widget data — shared between the app and its widgets via iOS App Groups and local Watch UserDefaults
Apple Watch Companion
The Wottle Apple Watch app stores water entries and goal data locally on the Watch using UserDefaults. Sync between iPhone and Apple Watch uses Apple's WatchConnectivity framework, which communicates directly between paired devices over Bluetooth and WiFi. No data passes through any external server.
Apple Health Integration
If you choose to sync with Apple Health, Wottle reads and writes water intake data using HealthKit. This data never leaves your device unless you configure iCloud Health sync in Apple's Health app settings. Wottle has no access to your iCloud data.
No Third Parties
Wottle does not use analytics, crash reporters, advertising networks, or any third-party services. No one but you has access to your data.
No Accounts
Wottle does not require account creation, login, or any personal information. Start using the app immediately after installation.
Data Deletion
To delete all Wottle data, delete the app from your iPhone and Apple Watch. If you synced with Apple Health, you can manually delete water intake entries in the Health app.
Children's Privacy
Wottle does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is safe for all ages.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change our privacy practices, we'll update this page and the app description. Since we don't collect data, we have no way to notify you directly — please check back periodically.

TL;DR
We don't collect anything. Your data never leaves your devices (iPhone and Apple Watch communicate directly). Delete the apps, delete the data. That's it.
