iPhone App

How do I add water intake?

Use the quick-add buttons (Cup, Bottle, Large) on the main screen, or tap the + button to enter a custom amount. You can also log water from the Add Water sheet with a slider (50ml to 2000ml).

How do I set my daily goal?

Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner to open Settings. Adjust the Daily Goal slider from 1000ml to 5000ml. Your new goal takes effect immediately and syncs to Apple Watch.

How do reminders work?

Enable reminders in Settings and set your active hours (e.g., 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM). Wottle will send hourly notifications to help you stay on track. Make sure you've allowed notifications in iOS Settings.

Does Wottle sync with Apple Health?

Yes! Wottle can read and write water intake data to Apple Health. You'll be prompted to grant permission when you first open the app. Manage permissions in iOS Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Wottle.

How do I add a widget?

Long-press your home screen, tap the + button, search for Wottle, and choose the small or medium widget. The widget shows your daily progress and updates automatically. Lock screen widgets are also available.

Can I delete individual water entries?

Yes! Scroll down to Today's Drinks and tap the trash icon on any entry. The deletion syncs to Apple Watch automatically.

Apple Watch

How do I add water from my Apple Watch?

Open Wottle on your Watch, tap 'Add Water', then use the Digital Crown to dial in your amount (50ml steps) or tap a preset button (150, 250, or 500ml). Tap the confirm button to log it.

How does iPhone-Watch sync work?

Wottle uses Apple's WatchConnectivity framework for direct device-to-device sync. When you add water on either device, the other updates within seconds when reachable. If devices aren't connected, changes sync when they reconnect.

How do I add Watch complications?

Long-press your watch face, tap Edit, and look for Wottle in the complication picker. Four styles are available: Circular (gauge ring), Rectangular (progress bar), Inline (text), and Corner (arc gauge).

Can I delete entries from my Watch?

Yes! Swipe down to the History page, then swipe left on any entry to delete it. The deletion syncs back to your iPhone.

Why isn't my Watch syncing?

Make sure both devices have Wottle open or recently active. Check that Bluetooth is enabled on both devices. If sync seems stuck, open Wottle on your iPhone — this triggers a full state refresh to the Watch.

Does the Watch app work without iPhone nearby?

Yes! You can log water and view history independently on your Watch. Data stores locally and syncs to iPhone when devices reconnect.

General

Is my data private?

All data stays on your devices. Wottle has no servers, no analytics, and no tracking. iPhone-Watch sync is direct device-to-device via Apple's WatchConnectivity — no cloud involved.

Do I need an internet connection?

No! Wottle works 100% offline on both iPhone and Apple Watch.

Are there in-app purchases or subscriptions?

No. Wottle is a one-time purchase ($0.99). iPhone app and Apple Watch companion are both included. No hidden fees.
