Overview

Mingle is a dating app connecting Korean expats, international students, and Korea-lovers worldwide. We collect data necessary to provide matching, messaging, and profile features. We do not sell your data to third parties. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Mingle collects the following data to power its dating features:

• Account Information: When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. If you use anonymous authentication, a randomly generated identifier is created.
• Profile Data: Your display name, bio, age, gender, interests, and preferences that you provide when creating your profile.
• Profile Photos: Photos you upload are stored in Firebase Storage and displayed to other users as part of your profile.
• Location Data: With your permission, we access your location to show nearby users and improve match suggestions. Location data is stored in Firebase to enable distance-based matching.
• Messages: Chat messages exchanged between matched users are stored in Cloud Firestore to enable real-time messaging.
• Usage Data: We collect basic usage analytics such as match interactions and feature usage to improve the app experience.

Firebase Services

Mingle uses the following Firebase services provided by Google:

• Firebase Auth: Google OAuth and anonymous authentication for account creation and sign in.
• Cloud Firestore: Stores user profiles, match data, chat messages, and preferences.
• Firebase Storage: Stores user-uploaded profile photos and verification images.

How We Use Your Data

• To create and maintain your profile visible to other users
• To suggest compatible matches based on preferences and location
• To enable real-time messaging between matched users
• To verify profiles and maintain community safety
• To improve matching algorithms and app features

Data Sharing

Your profile information (name, photos, bio, age) is visible to other Mingle users as part of the matching experience. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. Data may be shared with Firebase (Google) as our infrastructure provider, subject to Google's privacy policies.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed, including your profile, photos, match history, and messages. This process is irreversible and typically completes within 30 days.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile information directly in the app or request a full data export by contacting us. You may withdraw location permissions at any time through your device settings.
