BarkMood is designed with privacy as the top priority. We believe your dog's barks and your personal audio data should never leave your device.
Data Collection
We collect ZERO data.
- No analytics or tracking
- No crash reporting
- No user accounts or authentication
- No cloud storage or syncing
- No third-party SDKs or advertising networks
- No audio recordings are saved or transmitted
How Audio Is Processed
BarkMood uses Apple's Sound Analysis framework to analyze audio in real-time. All processing happens 100% on your device:
- Audio is analyzed in real-time and immediately discarded
- No audio files are saved to storage
- Only classification results (e.g., "Hungry", "Playful") are stored locally
- No audio data ever leaves your iPhone
Data Storage
BarkMood stores only bark classification history (timestamps, types, confidence scores) on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data:
- Never leaves your iPhone
- Is protected by iOS sandboxing
- Contains no audio recordings
- Is deleted when you uninstall the app (standard iOS behavior)
Permissions
BarkMood requests the following iOS permissions:
- Microphone Access: Required to listen to and analyze dog barks in real-time
We do not request or require any other permissions.
Third-Party Services
BarkMood does not use any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics tools. All AI processing is done using Apple's built-in Sound Analysis framework.
Internet Connection
BarkMood works 100% offline. No internet connection is required or used. The app does not make any network requests.
Children's Privacy
BarkMood does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
